The parking lots at University of Phoenix Stadium were bathed in a sea of Oklahoma State orange and Stanford red, with smiling fans more than content to enjoy the warm sun and cold beer hours before the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl kickoff.

Fans of both teams, neither a consistent college-football powerhouse, insisted their trips would be worthwhile no matter who won the game, but a victory would make the trip home a lot more pleasant.

Gila River Community to vote on South Mountain freeway

Residents of the Gila River Indian Community will vote Feb. 7 on whether to allow the controversial South Mountain Freeway extension on tribal land.

While a favorable vote on relocation wouldn’t necessarily guarantee the freeway would be put there, the vote offers likely the last best hope to Ahwatukee Foothills opponents of the project, as well as to tribal leaders who contend the currently proposed freeway path would damage sacred land.

SCC Continues ‘Building Global Trust’ International Student Program

Scottsdale, AZ (November 27, 2011) – For the past six months, SCC has been host to 18 students from 7 countries as part of the 2011-2012 Community College Initiative Program. Made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of State, the program provides students from developing countries with an opportunity for non-degree study and professional development.
